What to Know About Photo Updates and Additional Photos

Examples of well taken profile photos.

Has your looked changed? Do you want to add additional photos to your online profile? Photos are an important part of the casting process, here's what you need to know about photo updates and adding pictures to your profile.

Main photo updates

The main photos in your profile are the headshot and full body shot you took during Talent Onboarding. While these main photos cannot be deleted or updated, if your look changes, you can upload new photos to the Artist's Choice slot of your profile. Casting Directors use these self-uploaded photos, along with any additional photos you upload, to determine the types of roles you can portray.

Uploading additional photos

Additional photos are a great way to show Casting Directors your different looks and wardrobe. These photos should always reflect how you look right now; any outdated photos should be removed from your profile.

Want to optimize your online profile? We recommend keeping photos to unique and distinct looks that fit within our photo guidelines. Remember, Casting Directors look through your photos when booking their roles; similar photos only clutter your profile and make it harder for them to find the one they need.

In addition to a current headshot and full body shot, here are some recommended additional photos:

Casual, business, and formal

These are commonly booked categories, so it can be helpful to give Casting Directors an example of each look. Even if you have multiple wardrobe options for each category, you only need to pick one that best represents your current look.

Unique looks or costumes

Adding 1-2 photos of unique wardrobe or costumes you own is a great way to show off your versatile looks. We know you may have wardrobe and costumes for multiple roles, but you do not need to upload them all to your profile. When Casting Directors need to see you in a specific look, they will likely ask you to send a recent photo in that look. Any photos you upload must be of wardrobe you own and have access to. You should never take photos of yourself in wardrobe provided by production.

Vehicles

Interested in working with your car? No matter the make, model, color, or condition, there's a chance you can get booked with your vehicle. Photos you upload should be of your actual car (not dealership or ad photos) and be taken at an angle where the front and sides of your vehicle are clearly visible.

How to take a profile photo

Photos you upload to your profile do not need to be taken professionally, in fact, professional headshots are often edited and altered, which cannot be used when considering you for background work. Instead, having a friend or family member take your photos can help ensure you are framed and lit correctly. Photos you upload should:

  • Reflect your current look
  • Only feature you
  • Be taken against a white or solid light background
  • Be well lit and in focus
  • Be unedited and unfiltered

You can upload photos in the "Photographs" section of your online profile. After uploading, you must choose a slot (category) for your photo. You do not need a photo for every slot, these are just options for different ways to classify your pictures.
